This week I continued to work on the 12x12 inch panels that I plan to join together.
Monday morning 3.10.14
Monday afternoon 3.10.14
Thursday morning 3.13.14
Thursday afternoon 3.13.14
I'm starting to think that I like these paintings better individually, rather than together. Been working on these panels obsessively. Driving me nuts. But in a good way. hmmmmmm.....
at the end of the week
Tools. I think it's time to change the paper on the table.
To see photos taken at the opening reception of the Encaustic Nature in Art exhibit, you can see them here. I'm so pleased that my painting Cradled received 3rd place prize. 1st place was won by Ahavani Mullen whose work is so serene. And 2nd place was won by Julia Ris whose work is so dynamic. Glad to be in such good company. The show will be up until April 1st if you are in Highland Park, IL.

ReplyDeleteOh! That's such a good idea! I'm totally going to copy you. thanks for the idea and inspiration.
Delete'Cradled' is a beautiful piece and very different from the other winners. I enjoyed looking through the photos of the exhibit. As for your studio table...again I'm fascinated seeing your progress & dream of the day that I will have the knowledge to take my collage to that level. So inspiring...thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Leah, very kind of you to say that!
DeleteCongratulations! Lovely work. I'm with Trace...why waste such spontaneous texture and marks.
